At MDJ Law & Co., we take the information provided from your realtor and/or lender to create a personalized file for you. After file preparation is complete, we meet with you at our office (or virtually) to sign documents.

Once documents are signed, we have everything we need to continue the work in order to close your file! We will keep in touch with you throughout the process, right up until we've sent our reporting documentation.

Pricing
Real Estate Purchase Transaction
With every purchase transaction comes costs that are labeled either disbursements, other fees, or GST. To get an idea of what the disbursements, other fees, and GST will cost, please fill out our quote request form.
The standard rates are as follows:
Purchase (cash) - $650
plus disbursements, other fees, and GST.
Purchase (mortgage) - $790
plus disbursements, other fees, and GST.
Real Estate Sale Transaction

Sale - $650

Real Estate Refinance Transaction
With every refinance transaction comes costs that are labeled either disbursements, other fees, or GST. To get an idea of what the disbursements, other fees, and GST will cost, please fill out our quote request form.

Refinance - $850
plus disbursements, other fees, and GST.

What is a disbursement?Disbursements are the costs we incur in order to complete the transaction. They include Land Titles searches and registration costs, courier charges, software fees, tax certificates, Real Property Reports, Estoppel certificates or Title Insurance. We can give you a more accurate quote, we will just need you to provide some information about purchase/sale price of the property and the mortgage amount (if applicable).

Can you do virtual appointments?In Alberta, it is required that certain signing documents have a wet ink signature. There are also situations where it isn't possible to come in physically to the office to sign documents. We will send you the documents to print off and sign during a remote video meeting with the lawyer. A courier slip will be provided to you to send the original documents back to the office. In order to facilitate remote signing appointments, we need as much advance notice as possible. Additional fees may be incurred as a result of a remote signing.

Do you charge for extra payouts?The first two payouts are included in our fees. For each additional payout, there will be a fee added of $50.

Do you do multiple signing appointments?If additional signing appointments are required, we charge $250 plus GST for each additional signing appointment. One signing appointment is included with our standard fee.
